A Walk in a Winter Wonderland

Walking in a winter wonderland... With temperature in the negatives at night and highs in the low single digits, taking time to reconnect as a family.

Walking in a winter wonderland… With temperature in the negatives at night and highs in the low single digits, taking some time to reconnect as a family.

On our day off this week, we decided to break routine and change our walk.  Instead of walking down the plowed snow road, we decided to go back country.  We layered up our clothing, dawned our snow shoes and headed out into the 8 degree Fahrenheit (-13 Celsius) weather to enjoy the sunny day.  Our walk took us into about two feet of snow, deeper in the drifts. The wind has been howling the past few days and has dried out the powdery snow quite a bit.

What a great day for a walk.  The lyric “Jack Frost nipping at your nose” was a reality for us, which made going back inside also rewarding.  Our next video we are working on is about a moose visit with her precosious baby, which I thought was an adult until the mother arrived and warned us away.  The mama moose was so stealthy, she took my wife by surprise while she was filming.
